Jurnal – El Camino de Santiago
Ziua 1: Barcelona – Saint Jean Pied du Port (9 mai)
M-am trezit la 5:30 dimineaţa şi cu puţin noroc am prins autocarul spre Saint Jean Pied du Port. Am ajuns cu 1 minut înainte să plece: la fix! Drumul a durat cam 6-7 ore, suficient cât să realizez în ce m-am băgat şi că e cât de real se poate! Aveam emoţii şi o oarecare teamă dar şi un sentiment de aventură şi bucurie pentru experienţa ce urma. Pe la ora 16:00 a ajuns autocarul în Saint Jean Pied du Port. Eram puţin buimac şi pus în faţa primei încercări: să îmi găsesc cazare. Am mers la oficiul pelerinilor să îmi iau carnetul şi să întreb unde mă pot caza. Până la urmă am găsit cazare înainte de a ajunge la oficiu. Doamna de la albergue era foarte drăguţă şi amabilă, mi-a oferit toate informaţiile necesare şi mi-a spus că pot lăsa fără probleme bicicleta în recepetie.
La Oficiul Pelerinilor am dat de un bătrânel care mi-a oferit câteva pliante cu informaţii şi carnetul de pelerin iar înainte să plec mi-a urat cu călduros Buen Camino! Am asamblat bicicleta şi am plecat prin oraş la o tură să vizitez locul, nu înainte de a trece prin poarta de unde începe oficial El Camino de Santiago (el Camino Frances).
După micul tur al oraşului, m-am aşezat la masă cu cei doi noi prieteni din Australia, Shane şi Dave, la un Menu Pelerin şi un pahar de vin. Am stat într-o curte la soare, iar temperatura era perfectă. Toată lumea este foarte amabilă şi totul are un aer medieval şi plin de aventură. Vremea este bună şi începutul promiţător! Pe la 10 seara eram deja în pat.
